Thailand remains to be the hottest destination in Southeast Asia. Compared to other international tourist destinations, Thailand is relatively cheaper. Different types of accommodations are available from the boutique hotel in Sukhumvit to bed and breakfasts and hotel chains. Thailand guarantees that there is always an accommodation that is suitable for all budgets.
Thailand is also the top destination for Chinese travellers. According to a joint report by China Tourism Academy and online travel firm Ctrip, during the first of the year, 71.3 million Chinese tourists from more than 200 cities in China visited 130 countries, a 15% year-on-year increase. 5.9 million Chinese visitors were welcomed in Thailand, a 26% year-on-year increase.
Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Ministry also reported welcoming 19.4 million foreign tourists during the first half of the year, a 12% increase for the same period last year. The ministry expects that the number of Chinese visitors will reach 10 million this year even if there were some concerns over the high profile Phuket boat accident last July that unfortunately claimed 47 Chinese lives.
The boat accident resulted into mass cancellations of Chinese bookings but Tourism Minister Weerasak Kowsurat has monitored the tourism situation very closely. Safety and security measures were strengthened throughout the islands and other tourist attractions to restore their confidence. Mr. Weerasak’s visit in Phuket was aimed at encouraging bookings from international tourists before the high season that starts from October until March.
Shopping is usually the highlight in every tourist experience but now they are also gaining insight of the Kingdom’s culture and new attractions. Chinese travellers prefer to arrive in groups but young travellers usually opt to be alone and enjoy a unique adventure. Group tours vs. independent travel are now at 50:50. The most popular requests include virtual tours, food-related experiences, nightlife and sightseeing.
You can expect a lot of benefits when you opt for boutique hotel in Sukhumvit because it is located in the heart of Bangkok. The hotel is near the business, entertainment and shopping district as well as various tourist destinations. The charming city successfully blends culture, traditions and modernity. It is an ideal destination because there is always something for everyone.
